Welcome to St. Peter's Church
Fairfield. Welcome
to the website of St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Fairfield, Buxton. We are a
traditional Parish Church serving the needs of the people of this Church of
England Parish on the outskirts of the Spa Town of Buxton. Our aim is to worship
God and to proclaim his Son, Jesus, making him known to those amongst whom we
live. We try to meet the pastoral needs of the congregation and of the
diverse community in which we are set. Our
Sunday worship is Eucharistically centred, with a monthly family-orientated
service. We provide the full range of occasional Services. Our activities
reach out to as wide a range of age groups as possible and we have strong
links with our C of E Controlled School – Fairfield Junior School. If
you would like to come and worship with us you will find a warm welcome. If
you would like to find out more about our activities or more about the
Christian faith there will always be someone to talk to. Appointment of Priest in Charge The
Revd Carl Edwards, Curate of Scartho, Diocese of Lincoln, has been appointed
Priest-in-Charge of Fairfield with special responsibility for King Sterndale,
Diocese of Derby. Mr Edwards will be licensed on Tuesday, 16th June at 7.30

It
is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Vicar, Jonathan
Cooper on Saturday 16 February 2008. Jonathan died at the Vicarage with his
close family and friend. Despite being unwell since Christmas Jonathan
maintained a presence at St. Peter's until the week of his death. He held his
last Holy Communion service at the Vicarage on Wednesday 13 February 2008. He
will be greatly missed by the people of the Parish of Fairfield. A
short resume of Jonathan's life appears below
